2008 Sheep Care Calendar
January 15 – Health Check: Shear, vaccinate, worm, and trim hooves of pregnant ewes. (6-8 weeks before first lamb scheduled to arrive.)
March 2 – First lambs arrive. (From first lamb to last lamb is usually 3 weeks.)
March 23 – Last Lambs arrive.
May 11 – First vaccination given to lambs. (All lambs should be 7 to 8 weeks old.)
May 31 – Health Check: Shear, vaccinate, worm and trim hooves of yearlings & rams.
June 1 – Second vaccination given to lambs and along with their mothers put out on clean pasture.
August 1 – Health Check: Wean and worm lambs and ewes; put on clean pasture.
September 15 – Health Check: Worm and trim hooves of rams.
October 1 – Ewes put with rams
November 21 – Ewes and Rams separated; Ewes moved to lambing barn and exercise area.
